Troubleshooting

-----------------------Oct 2009 -----------------------------------

During the first 2009 Mobilization Exercise last Friday, it was brought to our attention that several task force members have not been able to open the “Members Only” area from the COTF1 homepage.

The website is hosted on the City of Lakewood's servers and they are aware of the problem and we have been told that they along with West Metro Fire Information Technology are looking into the “problem”.

A couple of alternative “workarounds” have been suggested to access the members only area:

1. Once you have selected “members only”, in the username box delete existing username and type in lippy\cotf1, and then taskforce as the password.

2. You can use another web browser such as Mozzilla Firefox to  access the intranet with cotf1 as the user and taskforce for the password. You can download at firefox.com.

If you should still not be able to access the members only area, let us know.

---------------------------AOL User----------------------------

Aol users must sign on using their AOL account, then zip down their AOL internet window and open the Explorer window from their desktop.

Re-enter the web address in the Explorer window by typing
www.co-tf1.org into the address line.

Now enter the user name and password.

You should be able to enter the Members Only area.

We are sorry for the inconvenience but there is a problem with all AOL users because of AOL's browser compatibility with some security features on web sites.

Disable ATT utility called "Accelerator".

Accelerator functions as a Download Manager.  It supplements the features already built into IE that attempts to predict how a page will load & to reuse unchanged parts of webpages that you've visited previously.  In an effort to speed things up, this feature will blow right past the CO-TF1 log-in box.  This should allow you to log-in.

If you need instructions for another browser, please consult your browser's online support resources.
